Notification
The Award Letter
Once your financial aid package has been received and processed, you will receive a financial aid award letter. The award letter will reflect all federal, state and University offers of aid, including scholarships, grants, and student employment. You are not required to accept any or all aid offered on your award letter. Other aid, such as tuition waivers, assistantships, fellowships, resident hall advisor compensation, and scholarships from organizations outside the University will be listed once OSFA is notified about the award.
Generally, OSFA begins mailing award letters to applicants in March. If your financial aid changes after you have received your award letter, either because of a change in eligibility, additional awards added, or per your request, a revised award letter will be sent. You should retain a copy of all correspondence from OSFA for your records, after reading it carefully and making sure that you understand the information within.
University colleges and academic departments make decisions concerning recipients for merit based scholarships throughout the year. Students who filed the FAFSA will receive an award letter with these scholarships listed. Frequently, the awarding colleges and academic departments send separate notices to their scholarship recipients.
If you do not receive an award letter or request for additional information/documents from OSFA by mid-May, please check the Financial Aid section of UI-Integrate Self-Service, or contact us.
