Aid for Veterans
Most state and federal veteran educational programs can be used in conjunction with federal student financial aid to cover your cost of attendance. Completing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) is the first step in determining your eligibility for additional grants, loans, and work-study.
Please note that this section explains additional programs or opportunities available only to Veterans of the U.S. Armed Services. The finanical aid information found throughout OSFA website also applies to you.
You are considered a veteran for financial aid purposes if :
- You have engaged in active duty in the U.S. Armed Forces.
- You were a member of the National Guard or Reserves who was called to active duty for purposes other than training.
- You were a cadet or midshipman at one of the service academies and were released under a condition other than dishonorable.
You are not considered a veteran for financial aid purposes if:
- You have never engaged in active duty in the U.S. Armed Forces.
- You are currently an ROTC student, cadet, or midshipman at a service academy.
- You are a National Guard or Reserves enlistee activated only for training.
