Veteran Educational Entitlements
There are two educational entitlement programs available to veterans: the Active Duty Montgomery GI Bill and the Selected Reserve Montgomery GI Bill.
- Active Duty Montgomery GI Bill
Applications are available at any State Department of Veterans Affairs. Anyone on active duty, who has contributed to the Montgomery GI Bill, should have the member 4 section of their DD Form 214 certified by a County Clerk or Recorder of Deeds, for submission with your Application for VA Educational Benefits.
Active Duty Benefits and Service
- Selected Reserve Montgomery GI Bill (MGIB-SR)
To apply for the Reserve Guard Montgomery GI Bill, you should submit a DD Form 2384, Selected Reserve Educational Assistance Program, Notice of Basic Eligibility (NOBE), with your Application for VA Educational Benefits.
