Educational Entitlement Certification
To receive Educational Entitlement Certification, you must be enrolled in appropriate courses that meet the established educational objectives as listed in the programs catalog. This excludes any classes you take for a second time.
Payment of veterans' educational benefits under the Active Duty and Selected Reserve programs requires you to advise the school of your intent to use these benefits for the upcoming semester (certification). You must also complete a monthly verification of enrollment (self-certification) to receive benefits during the semester.
You are encouraged to complete your certifications as early as possible by e-mailing your schedules to the Office of Student Financial Aid - Veterans Affairs during pre-registration.
How to E-mail Your Schedule:
- Login to UI-Integrate Self-Service and go to the Student Schedule-Detail screen.
- Select: Registration & Records
- Select: Registration
- Select: Student Schedule-Detail
- Select appropriate term
- Copy all the information on the screen to place in an email.
- Right click anywhere on the Student Schedule-Detail screen, select all, and copy.
- Email the contents of your detailed schedule to the Office of Student Financial Aid - Veterans Affairs.
- Type your UIN (University ID Number) into the subject line of the email to veterans@uiuc.edu
- Paste the contents of your schedule into the body of the email and send
Note: Students who take a noncredit deficiency, remedial, or refresher course must provide our office with a written statement from the department that explains the necessity for taking the course.
